PEDAL
This January, Moxi & Loon present their first full length album, PEDAL. The rock duo’s eight track album was recorded to tape with sound engineer and producer Jordan Andreen (Earthless, JOY) at Big Fish Recording Studio. From earworm hooks to swollen psychedelic textures, PEDAL keeps the listener nonplussed and engaged from top to bottom. PEDAL bursts with triumphant vigor and lyrical flow, taking the listener on a road trip to Valhalla and beyond.
Tracks like “Toro Toro” and “Wolfish” launch out of the gates with punching rhythms reminiscent of Queens of the Stone Age. Uninhibited licks with globally inspired touches harken to experimental artists like Osees and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Heady, stream-of-consciousness lyrics in tracks like “Rhizome” invoke the feeling of big wave surfing the astral realm. Each track builds up momentum into explosive catharsis. PEDAL's unique mosaic of influence lends to an overall exultant energy. Its release is set for January 24th, 2023, followed by a 16-date tour up and down the west coast.
Bio
Like a beached whale bubbling in the hot sun, Moxi & Loon exploded on the coast of San Diego and immediately demanded attention. Their origin was a bizarre, captivating scene that materialized on piers and boardwalks in early 2019. The duo (Nick Fulsher and Jake Jarz) led impromptu performances out of their converted vans, drawing audiences in with fierce energy and an alchemical blend of dirty blues and psychedelic desert rock. Without homes or a practice space, Nick and Jake wrote all of their original material during live street performances. They quickly gained support and recognition through their eruptive energy conjured from a simple two-piece approach. “People often told us how shocked they were to turn the corner and find it was just the two of us,” says Nick Fulsher (drums, guitar, vocals). Nick and Jake performed and toured relentlessly and quickly claimed their spots in historic San Diego venues like the Casbah and Belly Up Tavern. To date they have performed for over a hundred audiences in venues across 9 states.
"Don't get too close, they may bite! Just let the Rock N' Roll flow through you and lose your mind! A commanding presence and I love that they switch instruments! Moxi and Loon rock my world!"
